How much does it cost to build a SaaS or business tool with AI?

It's often the first question. Yet the cost depends less on the word “SaaS” than on what the product must actually do.

Not every tool requires €100,000

An internal tool with a few workflows has nothing to do with a SaaS platform sold to thousands of companies.

The budget depends on: the number of features; users; roles and permissions; integrations; data volume; the AI used; security requirements; the interface; infrastructure; the level of automation.

Orders of magnitude

As a guide, a project can be approached in stages.

Diagnosis / scoping — from a few hundred to a few thousand euros: process analysis, target workflow and scope definition.

Prototype — around €1,500 to €5,000: UX, main screens and validation of how it works.

Business MVP — around €5,000 to €20,000: a first genuinely usable version with the essential features.

More structured SaaS — €20,000 to €50,000 and beyond: larger architecture, integrations, roles, automations, security, billing, administration and advanced features.

These amounts are orders of magnitude, not contractual prices.

AI can reduce some costs, not remove them

New development tools accelerate certain phases. But it remains necessary to: understand the business; design the product; structure the data; test; secure; integrate; maintain.

The real goal is not: “How do we develop as cheaply as possible?” But: “What is the smallest solution able to produce enough value to justify its cost?”
